The circumstances and actions that took place inside the village of croebern on oct. 16th 1813 are contemporaneously intertwined with the fight for the “Sheep Farm Auenhain”. Like the farm “La-Haye-Sainte“ at the Battle of Waterloo, the “Sheep Farm Auenhain”, set on exposed location on the battlefield, saw heavy fighting. Occupation changed several times during the day of oct. 16th.
Thanks to old footage of the village (Paintings and photographies dated before WW2 ) we are able to research and reconstruct the looks of the sheep farm in the best way possible.
In cooperation with Thorsten Burgdorf we will try to reconstruct the sheep farm and built a miniature model of it in the scale of 1/72.
As there is an ongoing interest throughout the hobby scene we will try to slip cast the final version of the sheep farm into a resin model, purchasable for traders, wargamers and hobbyists.
With the development of the “Sheep Farm Auenhain” -model it seems suggesting for us to stage it onto an extra (of course smaller) diorama….at least if we find the time for it considering the work on our main project “Croebern”.
There will be further information about research, reconstruction and the actual building process of the sheep farm soon!
